• The hotel serves as hebei province general quarters in Beijing. So only a portion of it is an hotel proper. They apparently keep the best part of this historic location for officials, not tourists. including the actual real courtyards were off limits for tourists. Like many chinese hotels they have no parking lot and all the official cars were parked 'en vrac' in front of the entrance. Its a very peaceful location with splendid roof architectures. We got the Suite so we really enjoyed our stay. The standard rooms without windows are probably a slight disappointment for the price. Given the quiet location its only accessible by smaller alley streets so there is no big traffic nearby.There also seemed to be a restaurant on the premises of the hotel but apparently it was not open during our 4 days stay (probably for hebei officials only). But there are several options to eat in the small hutong nearby. You can get to the forbidden city by taking a crowded bus or taking a long walk to the subway, but there are two great parks worth visiting first (entry fee). There are better location hotels for restaurants but for a few days it was nice.Chudo big bed room
